Today we took a high speed train to Segovia, Spain. The picture above is the city’s old aquaduct dead center in the middle of town which is in perfect condition.
From there we walked up a narrow road to the stunning gothic catedral (pictures coming soon). Our real goal was the Alcazar, which is a couple hundred meters from the catedral.
The alcazar was also once a prison and an artillary school. The castle is amazing, and it’s said to have inspired Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast castle; I can see why.
The alcazar is mostly intact and the city views from the top are breathtaking.
Segovia has been one of the most beautiful small towns I’ve been to in a while. At 30 minutes from Madrid, it’s definitely a must see.
